Softball Game Preview: Tarboro Vikings vs. Bertie Falcons

Tarboro hasn't had much luck against Bertie recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tarboro Vikings will welcome the Bertie Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Tarboro will be strutting in after a win while Bertie will be coming in after a defeat.

Tarboro is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. Everything went their way against North Edgecombe as Tarboro made off with a 46-29 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Erica Jones, who scored seven runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Kharizma Gary was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.

Meanwhile, Bertie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-2 to Ridgecroft.

Tarboro suffered a grim 23-6 defeat to Bertie when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Tarboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
