Preview: Cherokee Braves vs. Hayesville Yellowjackets
The Cherokee Braves will be playing at home against the Hayesville Yellowjackets at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cherokee's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Even though Andrews scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, Cherokee still came out on top. Cherokee took their match against the Wildcats 78-70.
Meanwhile, Hayesville ended up a good deal behind the Maroon Devils on Tuesday and lost 64-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hayesville in their matchups with the Maroon Devils: they've now lost three in a row.
Cherokee has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Hayesville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Everything went Cherokee's way against the Yellowjackets in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the Braves made off with a 71-51 victory. Does Cherokee have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
