Softball Recap: Early Starts Season with Victory Against Bangs

Early gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bangs Dragons with a sharp 15-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Early let Kyleigh Caperton and Jaime Lyon run wild. Caperton went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Lyon went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Thornberry, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Early will take on Big Spring in a tournament on Friday. As for Bangs, they will take on Wall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
