Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Pompano Beach came into Wednesday's matchup having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They escaped with a win on Wednesday against the Monarch Knights by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40. This was payback for the Golden Tornadoes, who suffered a 59-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Monarch lost, don't look at Nikyle Campbell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Campbell a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Gavin Slade, who posted three points and five steals.

Pompano Beach's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Monarch, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
