Softball Recap: Huntley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Huntley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Crystal Lake South Gators on Thursday as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Red Raiders have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ava McFadden, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Bonner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Huntley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive matchups.

The victory snapped Huntley's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-11 record. As for Crystal Lake South, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Huntley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
