Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Citrus Hurricanes
The Lecanto Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 44 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Citrus 53-9 on the road. The team accrued 44 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Lecanto found their leader in underclassman Bryleigh Florio, who scored 19 points. Florio is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ijyana Edwards was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and six assists.
Lecanto's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Citrus, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Lecanto will head out on the road to face off against Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Land O' Lakes is ranked 140th, while Lecanto is ranked 129th). Citrus will be home for the holidays to greet Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
