Basketball Game Preview: Youngker Roughriders vs. Verrado Vipers

The Youngker Roughriders will face off against the Verrado Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Youngker was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 74-68 to Buckeye. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (55), the Roughriders still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Verrado). They claimed a resounding 91-31 win over Buckeye. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Verrado pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45 points. As for Youngker, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
