The Dwight Trojans will take on the Reed-Custer Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dwight is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Dwight's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Lowpoint-Washburn. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Taylor Heath made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madi Ely and McKenna Woodcock did most of the damage at the plate: Ely went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles, while Woodcock went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Ely a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caroline Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Dwight kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Reed-Custer nor Clifton Central made it on the board until the fifth inning. Reed-Custer had just enough and edged out Clifton Central 3-2. While Reed-Custer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Reed-Custer's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Dwight, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Dwight came up short against Reed-Custer in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 9-4. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
