Softball Recap: Jacksonville Takes a Loss

Jacksonville lost against D.H. Conley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Jacksonville fell just short of D.H. Conley by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

Jacksonville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serayah White, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was White's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Jacksonville and nudges their season record down to 4-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for D.H. Conley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksonville will venture away from home to challenge J.H. Rose at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. J.H. Rose's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Jacksonville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for D.H. Conley, they will head out to face off against New Bern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. D.H. Conley's pitchers better be ready for this one: New Bern has averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
