Basketball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Providence School Stallions

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will take on the Providence School Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Ponte Vedra came up short against Nease and fell 53-43.

Despite the loss, Ponte Vedra saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jocelyn Hoffmann went 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Providence School, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 69-40 win over Nease. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Providence School pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Ponte Vedra, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Ponte Vedra strolled past Providence School in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 50-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ponte Vedra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
