Softball Game Preview: Tellico Plains Bears vs. Meigs County Tigers

Tellico Plains hasn't had much luck against Meigs County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will square off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m.

Tellico Plains fell victim to Sweetwater and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Tellico Plains saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalli Yates-Matoy, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Meigs County duked it out with Polk County on Thursday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Wildcats. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Tellico Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Meigs County, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-7.

Tellico Plains was able to grind out a solid win over Meigs County when the teams last played back in March, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
