Baseball Recap: Spring Valley Has No Trouble Against Bethel-Tate

Spring Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Bethel-Tate on Friday. The Timberwolves put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-2 victory.

Spring Valley got a great performance from Luis Montoya as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, Montoya posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Garrett Wagoner was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Ferguson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Spring Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethel-Tate only posted an OBP of .455.

Spring Valley's record is now 12-5. As for Bethel-Tate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Spring Valley will head out on the road to square off against Conner at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bethel-Tate, they will welcome Felicity-Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
