Loveland is 0-5 against Lebanon since April of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Loveland has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Loveland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Kings on Tuesday. They lost 13-2 to the Knights.
Loveland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Summer Rohlfs, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lebanon had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Warriors' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four games.
Not much got past Paislie Stansberry, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Walnut Hills off the board.
At the plate, Ella Tuebner was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jane Leuzinger, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Lebanon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walnut Hills struck out 14 times.
Lebanon's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Loveland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Loveland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Lebanon struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
