Game recap: Savannah Country Day High School Football Team defeats Portal

PORTAL, Ga. - Heys McMath ran for three touchdowns and Ollie Cesar added two as well as Savannah Country Day (Savannah, Ga.) defeated Portal (Ga.) 40-22 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a field goal by Harley Lichtenberg in the first quarter, the Hornets led 23-8 at the half.

Savannah Country Day expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. SCD scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by McMath.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Savannah school, which lost to Claxton last week, 54-0.

In a A Region 3A game next week Portal (0-8) takes on Calvary Day, and Savannah Country Day (2-6) will go up against Savannah Christian also in a A Region 3A game.
