Baseball Recap: De Anza Comes Up Short

De Anza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the El Cerrito Gauchos. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Jason Miles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Sheppard, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

De Anza's loss dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for El Cerrito, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

While De Anza had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
