Volleyball Recap: Xendra Jilek and Abby Miller Secure Win for Barron

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Barron walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Spooner Rails with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Rails recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Barron took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-11, 25-10.

Barron was led to victory by Abby Miller and Xendra Jilek. Miller had 11 digs and two aces, while Jilek had six digs and two aces. What's more, Miller racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Barron's win bumped their record up to 30-6. As for Spooner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.

Barron wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Northwestern on the 25th. Spooner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
