Softball Recap: Hooks Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hooks proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Beckville Bearcats 9-7. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Hadlee Grant was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoey Greenwood, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Hooks' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Beckville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7-2 record this season.

Hooks will head out on the road to challenge Queen City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beckville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ore City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
