Soccer Recap: Oak Harbor Takes a Loss

After soaring to four goals the game before, Oak Harbor was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Squalicum Storm by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Oak Harbor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Squalicum are ranked 47th).

Oak Harbor has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-2 record this season. As for Squalicum, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oak Harbor is set to square off against their familiar foe Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Squalicum will face off against rival Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Squalicum's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Lakewood have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
