Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

Cabrillo's tournament run continued when they took on Coastal Christian on Saturday. The Conquistadores fell just short of the Conquerors by a score of 2-1.

Leila Kiesling paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up five kills. Kiesling got some help from Jazlene Brady and her 11 assists. Taylor Savella controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Coastal Christian found their leader in freshman Kaitlyn Starkovich, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Starkovich.

Cabrillo now has a losing record of 12-13-1. As for Coastal Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Cabrillo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Sanger West on the 27th. As for Coastal Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 victory against Templeton on the 27th.
