Basketball Recap: Muleshoe Comes Up Short

Muleshoe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 66-59 to the Friona Chieftans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mules this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-43 back in January.

Muleshoe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Friona, their win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-21.

Muleshoe and Friona could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Muleshoe will take on Slaton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 1,156 places (1394 vs. 238). Similarly, Friona (ranked 1472nd) will meet Roosevelt (ranked 679th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
