Football Recap: Westfield Takes a Loss

Westfield lost against North Shore back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Westfield Mustangs were beaten by the North Shore Mustangs 47-3. While losing is never fun, Westfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while North Shore is ranked third).

Miles Dent threw for 104 yards on eight of 15 attempts, and also rushed for 31 yards. Emmanuel Yancy was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards. On the ground, Demonte Ford rushed for 61 yards.

D?Andre Hardeman Jr. was a one-man wrecking crew for North Shore as he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Quanell Farrahkan Jr. was in the mix as well, providing North Shore with two touchdowns.

Westfield's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for North Shore, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Westfield and Spring will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on September 27th. Westfield is facing Spring at the right time seeing as Spring is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Shore, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Humble at 7:00 p.m. on September 26th.
