Basketball Recap: Liberty Has No Trouble Against Kearney

While Liberty didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 50-27 margin over the Kearney Bulldogs on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-32 back in November of 2024.

Maggie Lakin and Addison Taylor certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Lakin posted five points and six boards, while Taylor had eight points.

Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Kearney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Liberty will challenge North Kansas City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kearney, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-21 victory against Winnetonka on the 17th.
