Baseball Game Preview: Sweetwater Wildcats vs. Coalfield Yellow Jackets

The Sweetwater Wildcats will face off against the Coalfield Yellow Jackets at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sweetwater 3.6, Coalfield 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Coalfield will be up against a hot Sweetwater team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Wildcats never let Tellico Plains get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Coalfield's offense. They came up short against North Bullitt on Friday, falling 9-0. That makes it the first time this season the Yellow Jackets have let down their home crowd.

Sweetwater pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coalfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
