Recap: Suffolk Christian Academy Knights vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles
The Suffolk Christian Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 35-19 to Summit Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Suffolk Christian Academy has scored all season.
Suffolk Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ken Oparaji, who scored eight points, and Jeremy "LJ" Smith who scored five points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oparaji has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Suffolk Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Summit Christian Academy pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Leading Summit Christian Academy to victory were Don Forrest, Jr. and Ezra Crowder. Forrest, Jr. scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Crowder scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Courtland Reiter was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Suffolk Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Summit Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
After both having extra time off, Suffolk Christian Academy and Victory Christian will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
