Softball Recap: Izzy Brown Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ridge View

Lugoff-Elgin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Ridge View on Tuesday. The Demons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blazers a 16-0 shutout. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Haleigh Miranda was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lugoff-Elgin got a massive performance out of Izzy Brown, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Brown posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last nine matches. Another player making a difference was Ella Sheorn, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Lugoff-Elgin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridge View didn't got any hits.

Lugoff-Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Ridge View, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lugoff-Elgin will take on Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ridge View, they will venture away from home to challenge the Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
