Basketball Recap: Wheatland's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Wheatland can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-34 win over the Southeast Cyclones. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Ayden Desmond, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. Another player making a difference was TJ Moats, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Wheatland's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheatland will face off against Gering at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Wheatland has lost three straight at home , while Gering has lost three on the road. As for Southeast, they will square off against Lingle-Fort Laramie at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lingle-Fort Laramie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Southeast likes a good challenge.
