Baseball Recap: Immaculata Takes a Loss

Immaculata lost against North Hunterdon back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Immaculata got a good showing from Rob Sikorski, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sikorski has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Immaculata saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Labrador, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Labrador is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jayden Capindica was another, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Immaculata's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for North Hunterdon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

While Immaculata had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
