Volleyball Game Preview: South Florence Bruins vs. Wilson Tigers

South Florence is 2-8 against Wilson since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wilson will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: South Florence extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lakewood.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-7, 25-17.

South Florence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey McManus, who had 31 assists and four aces. McManus is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 27 or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blakley Blue, who had eight aces.

They weren't the only good servers: South Florence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 16 aces in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Wilson made easy work of Lower Richland on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Diamond Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-0, 25-15, 25-20.

South Florence's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Wilson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
