Indianapolis Scecina Memorial gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets with a sharp 48-28 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-7.

A big part of Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's win came down to the chemistry between Bryce McDonald and his top target Bryce Mathis. McDonald threw for 268 yards and five touchdowns while Mathis picked up 191 receiving yards and four TDs. Mathis showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 56 yards. Eric Montgomery handled things on the ground, rushing for 84 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran to a completion percentage of just 26.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Mathis and Gavin Connel, who each logged one passes deflected. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.9%.
