Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Picayune walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Long Beach Bearcats a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Maroon Tide might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

The win (which was Picayune's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Long Beach, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-11-2.

Picayune will challenge George County on Saturday. George County will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Picayune surely won't give up without a fight. Long Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
