Baseball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview fell victim to St. Joseph and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered since May 8th.

Lakeview got a good showing from Aeson Hawks, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hawks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lakeview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Russell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lakeview is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15. As for St. Joseph, their record now sits at 12-14-1.

While Lakeview had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
