Volleyball Game Preview: Port Richmond Raiders vs. Tottenville Pirates

The Port Richmond Raiders will square off against the Tottenville Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tottenville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Port Richmond, who comes in off a win.

Port Richmond is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Eagle Academy, who was ranked ninth at the time (Port Richmond was ranked seventh). The Raiders came out on top against Eagle Academy by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with Eagle Academy: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Tottenville didn't have quite enough to beat New Dorp on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Pirates have struggled against the Central Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Port Richmond's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Tottenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Port Richmond skirted past Tottenville 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
