Hixson came tearing into Thursday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Sequatchie County Indians. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Hixson's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Sequatchie County, they moved to 15-8 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Hixson and Sequatchie County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 115th) will meet Marion County (ranked 247th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sequatchie County will challenge DeKalb County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (132 vs. 285).
