Softball Recap: South Central Beats Argos for Their Third Straight Win

It's playoff time, and South Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Argos Dragons by a score of 4-1 on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Satellites, who have now won three matches in a row.

Lexi Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, South Central's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Cleek, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Valerie Horne, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 19-6-1. As for Argos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

As of now, neither South Central nor Argos have any future games scheduled.
