Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burnet). They put the hurt on the Florence Buffaloes with a sharp 12-2 victory on Wednesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 8-2.

Burnet's offense was hitting Florence from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Miguel Valdez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for six goals all by himself.

The win got Burnet back to even at 3-3-1. As for Florence, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burnet will square off against Northeast Early College at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Northeast Early College will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Burnet surely won't give up without a fight. Florence has already played their next contest (against Jarrell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
