Softball Recap: Glenbard North's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Glenbard North strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Glenbard South Raiders 12-2. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Glenbard North got a great performance from Aubry Miller as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Glenbard North let Tru Medina and Maddy Woitas run wild. Medina scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Woitas went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Woitas has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Lauren Kozlovsky was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Glenbard North pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Glenbard South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenbard North will venture away from home to face off against York at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.1, the Dukes 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Glenbard South, they will head out on the road to square off against Streamwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Sabres at the right time seeing as the Sabres are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
