Cedar Creek strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Oakcrest Falcons. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Matt Vanaman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Nate Winterbottom was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacob Budd, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cedar Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Oakcrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Cedar Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
