The Powdersville Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Travelers Rest Devildogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Powdersville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

Powdersville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt St. Joseph's Catholic on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Powdersville got a massive performance out of Ellison Wood, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Wood also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Tenleigh Davis was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Powdersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Travelers Rest narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Greer 5-4.

Powdersville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Travelers Rest, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
