Baseball Recap: Oxford's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Oxford dropped down to 17-9 on Monday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hernando Tigers. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Hernando, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Hernando's part, Cade Koczka was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Cole Gregg was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Oxford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hernando, they will challenge Collierville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
