The Anson Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Anson took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against West Stanly as Anson made off with a 38-15 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bearcats needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Forest Hills waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolf Pack 50-7. Forest Hills relied on the efforts of Zach Dillworth, who threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Rodney Smith, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Smith was even better on defense, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Forest Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Smith and Jerel Bolder. With that strong performance, Bolder is now averaging an impressive 101.9 receiving yards per game.
Anson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Forest Hills, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Friday's contest might be decided in the on the ground. Anson has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 198.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Forest Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 149. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Anson suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Forest Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Anson was down 21-0.
