Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Baldwyn Bearcats. One positive for the Seminoles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Matthew Allred made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Spann, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Baldwyn, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithville will head out to face off against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Baldwyn, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats take on the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
