Volleyball Recap: Trinity Christian Takes a Loss

If Trinity Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gramercy Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Conquerors: they've now lost five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

Violette Smith produced another solid performance getting 26 digs and six assists for Jacksonville Christian Academy. Those six assists gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chura Turcotte, who had nine digs.

Trinity Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Trinity Christian will face off against New Bern Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Southwest Onslow on the 28th.
