Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. Vacaville

The Pioneer Patriots will challenge the Vacaville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Vacaville will have to contend with a Pioneer team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since December 20. Pioneer fell 3-1 to Wood on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Vacaville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Mustangs are ranked 673rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noah Beltran and Noah Norford scored all three of Vacaville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Vacaville's win bumped their record up to 10-1-2. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-4.
