Baseball Recap: Borrego Springs Takes Down Ocean View Christian in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Borrego Springs had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Ocean View Christian Patriots with a sharp 13-3 win on Wednesday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Joey Rocha made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, AB Arambula was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Navarro, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Borrego Springs' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ocean View Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

Coming up, Borrego Springs will face off against Vincent Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Scots will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. Ocean View Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
