Volleyball Recap: Alex Tomsey and Kate Holley Secure Win for Etowah

There's no place like home for Etowah, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Woodstock Wolverines on Thursday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

Etowah easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20.

Etowah was led to victory by Kate Holley and Alex Tomsey. Holley had 11 digs and one assist, while Tomsey had six digs. That's the most digs Tomsey has posted since back in September of 2024.

Etowah's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Woodstock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Coincidentally, Etowah and Woodstock will both be playing Roswell the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
