Recap: Chatfield Chargers vs. Brighton Bulldogs

The Chatfield Chargers's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They strolled past Brighton with points to spare, taking the game 73-57. Chatfield's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Among those leading the charge was Merek Chuita, who scored 23 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Colin Mote was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.

Brighton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Austin Sickler, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Sickler's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Spotts, who scored 15 points.

Chatfield's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Brighton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Chatfield will be playing at home against Prairie View at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 61.2 points per game, Prairie View has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. Brighton is on the road again on Saturday and play against Riverdale Ridge at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Riverdale Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Brighton likes a good challenge.
