Basketball Game Preview: Moran Bulldogs vs. Garner Longhorns

The Moran Bulldogs and the Garner Longhorns will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Moran and three for Garner.

Moran is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Rule on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Moran lost 40-19 to Rule. The Bulldogs were down 36-15 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Moran saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bradee Stautzenburger posted four points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

Even though they lost, Moran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Garner was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 35-34 to Wichita Christian.

Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Moran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
