The Grace Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Thacher Toads at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Grace didn't have quite enough to beat Foothill Tech and fell 8-7.

Daniel Morlett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Borgstrom, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thacher). They blew past Bishop Diego 16-4 on Thursday. The Toads not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024 (when they won 13-0).

Cole Mason made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Thacher is 3-1 when Mason allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Mason was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sam Lust and Henry Molfino did most of the damage at the plate: Lust went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Molfino got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Lust has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Moustapha Abou-Samra Winningham also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Thacher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Thacher has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Grace, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-2.

Grace skirted past Thacher 5-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
