Volleyball Recap: Tessa Jessen and Chezney Bywater Secure Win for Altamont

Altamont posted their closest victory since November 1, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past the Water Canyon Wildcats 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Longhorns as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Altamont was led to victory by Chezney Bywater and Tessa Jessen. Bywater had eight digs and five aces, while Jessen had six digs. That's the most aces Bywater has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Altamont was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

Altamont's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Water Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Altamont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Beaver on the 17th. As for Water Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against St. Joseph on the 17th.
