Softball Recap: Rockwall-Heath Comes Up Short

Rockwall-Heath lost against Reedy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rockwall-Heath Hawks fell just short of the Reedy Lions by a score of 5-4. The defeat leaves the Hawks still looking for their first win on the season.

Hali Barnes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. She also put up a hit, which washer first of the season. Taylor Scott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Even though they lost, Rockwall-Heath hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Rockwall-Heath's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Reedy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Reedy, they will play host again on Saturday to welcome Guyer, where first pitch is scheduled at 3:00 p.m.
